Explore the arctic archipelago with the historical Hekkingen lighthouse and spot for sea eagles.
(optional transfer from Tromsø city centre)
A scenic hours drive from Tromsø will take us to Sommarøy. Just the drive there itself is an experience over mountain passes and along the fjords.
The archipalgo of Sommarøy hoasts a large colony of sea eagles year round. And to see them soar over the lanscape looking for fish is a remarkable sight.
On this guided tour we take you out in our well suited and heated boat and search the islands and cliffs for this majestic bird. With a wingspan ranging up over two meters, viewing this bird up close is a majestic and unforgettable sight. You may also encounter other wildlife such as sea otters, harbour porpoises, tysties and other sea birds. At the same time we will explore the wild exposed coast of Senja when weather permits and go ashore for a guided tour of the Hekkingen lightshouse. We will of open the lighthouse tower to give you a 360 degrees view of the surrounding area.
After the cruise you will have plenty of time to explore the fishing community of Sommarøy on your own.
The trip is arranged on request, and a minimum of four persons is required to conduct the tour.
