Join us and hike the Summit of Håja 486 above sea level
Fifteen kilometers out at sea, North of Sommarøy, the island of Håja rises dramatically from the ocean. A local ikon and the inspiration to the architechture of the Arctic Cathedral in Tromsø.
You need a solid boat to get there, so this tour begings at sea fo an half an hour, heading north to our starting point, through a wild and rugged landscape. Here we anchor up and head for the summit at 486 meters above sea level.
From here the summit is a good hour and a half away. We start with a sttep climb that evens out as we near the summit. The summit is spectacular in the midnight sun, giving you a 360 degrees view of the surrounding mountains and fjords. After the hike we descend for a last cruise across the ocean spotting for eagles and marine mammals along the way.
If you feel the summit is out of reach, there are plenty of turning points that will still give you an experience of a lifetime.
The meeting point is at 19pm at our activity centre on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
