Enjoy the warmth of the fire in the cold arctic nigth

To sit around the bonfire on a cold winter night is a mesmerising experience not soon forgotten. Let your thoughts drift away with the flames from the bonfire, while the warmth from the fire pushes away the cold temperatures from the snow covered surroundings. If we’re lucky, the skies are clear and the lady Aurora shines up the sky above us in shades of green, red and purple. However, sitting around the bonfire while the snow falls around you also creates a unique atmosphere.

On this tour we dress up in warm clothing, step into the snowshoes and walk through the snow covered trees to a place where we escape the worst light pollution. After a small hike we find our spot for the night, light up the bonfire and let it warm both our bodies and our souls. While enjoying a warm soup and hot drinks prepared on the bonfire we share stories and tales of the arctic winter night, at the same time keeping a look out for any activity in the skies. If by chance we get cold or tired of sitting still, we’re surrounded by the best playground in the world: Snow!

After a couple of hours enjoying the time round the bonfire, we take on our snowshoes and head back down again through the snowy landscape. If we're lucky, the moon, stars and northern lights light up the snow so we don't have to use our headlamps.

This tour is arranged on request on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the winter season. Send us an email if you want to book this tour! This is a low demanding tour, where the main focus is to enjoy the calm winter night around the bonfire. The snowshoe hike is short and duable for most people. It is important to dress well with warm clothing for this trip, but we do have extra warm clothing for you to borrow if needed.

Transfer to and from the city centre is included, and the location for the snowshoe tour will vary depending on weather. Our local guide will try to find the best spot for the evening, but the drive will never be longer than 45 minutes. The duration of the tour may vary according to weather and temperature, but we will be back in the city centre by midnight at the latest. Please note that this is not what we would define as a northern lights tour, however, as long as the sky is clear, the chances of seeing the aurora are absolutely present.

The tour may be cancelled or rescheduled due to bad weather or other unforseen factors. A new tour, similar product or a full refund will then be offered.
