On this tour we paddle the archipelagos of Sommarøy and explore the sandy white beaches.
Sommarøy is a world class destination for sea kayaking and a hotspot for local paddlers. Amongst the islands you will find hidden gems of sandy white beaches surrounded by 3000 foot peaks.
Explore, get close to the local wildlife such as sea eagles and other maritime species and enjoy lunch by the secluded seaside.
On this guided tour, we take to the highlights at Sommarøy and only accessible by kayak or boat.
Kayaking is one of the best ways to see Sommarøy and its surroundings. Moving slow at water level we sneak amongst the islands exploring and take time to go ashore on a beach for a good break along the way.
Our guides are local and well known in the area, with both its surroundings, history and knowledge of the local wildlife.
They will tell you about the old and new ways of living in a fishing community as Sommarøy and tales from the past. If you wish to increase your kayaking skills, this is the place to ask.
On these tours we paddle sturdy double kayaks, but you have the option to choose a single if you have a little experience.
If you have booked with transfer from Tromsø City centre, please meet outside the Aurora Fokus cinema in city centre at 9am.
If arriving directly to our activity centre at Sommarøy, please meet at 10.15am
